FMTE Policy Manifesto
Today we’re launching our Policy Manifesto — a roadmap to make Europe’s food system competitive, resilient, and sustainable.
Our vision rests on 3 strategic pillars:
Activate an enabling environment: simpler, predictable rules; modern production & bioprocessing infrastructure; secure, interoperable data to power AI.
Advance resource efficiency: decarbonise processes; cut food loss & waste; scale water and energy efficient technologies.
Accelerate new food sources: scale the bioeconomy, upcycle side streams, and streamline pathways for novel foods & alternative proteins.
This is a call for forward-looking policy, targeted investment, and cross sector collaboration to secure Europe’s leadership in food manufacturing technologies.
